John Kim is a Managing Director at Crown Capital, focusing on portfolio company operations, with an emphasis on building scalable operating platforms and executing digital transformation initiatives. John partners with the management teams of Crown’s portfolio companies to design systems that improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.

Prior to joining Crown, John spent more than 20 years as an operating and transformation leader across media, technology, and consumer-facing businesses. Most recently, he served as a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting, where he built and scaled global practice areas spanning advertising technology, media & entertainment, sports, and major events. His work has included leading Deloitte’s engagement with the International Olympic Committee, recruiting development teams, and architecting SaaS and data platforms. Over the course of his career, John has led or supported transformation initiatives generating over $100 million in revenue growth and cost efficiencies.

Earlier in his career, John held senior operating roles at AOL and Yahoo, where he led revenue strategy, sales operations, and post-merger integration initiatives across billion-dollar business units. He is also a Managing Partner at Stratosphere Management, advising founders and executive teams on platform strategies, digital transformations, and go-to-market execution.

John earned a B.S. in Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a Captain and Combat Engineer Officer, leading tactical units in support of U.S. forces on the Korean Peninsula.
